Meet Our Host

Suzie Becker
Suzie Becker

Born and raised in New York City, Suzie studied archaeology in the Middle East then transferred to SUNY to finish with a degree in Sociology. She discovered immediately that the ways in which ‘groups interact with and impact each other’ would become the cornerstone of her future journey as a business development consultant and community activist.

It was while managing a diverse portfolio of investment grade commercial and residential properties, that she took on the role of Director for several NYC Housing Authority homeless shelters- both adult and family services. Upon developing her expertise in building and facility operations, she was recruited as Project Manager by an investment group to lead the redevelopment of a decommissioned United States Air Force base housing into a planned community. This role required primary research, strategic planning, lead generation and- most importantly- the ability to connect and collaborate with communities, municipalities, clients and vendors. Upon becoming a mother over a decade ago, Suzie entered the field of education- first as a teacher and then as Education Director.

Suzie has worked cross functionally in small and large companies, alongside technical teams, customer service agents, academics, nonprofit administrators, as well as board members- both professionally and in positions of volunteer leadership. She has coached teams and boards to successful ambassadorship and welcomes the opportunity to create an engaging, inspired and meaningful environment wherever she is called to find innovative solutions.

Suzie dedicates her free time to creating a positive impact on our community by volunteering for local nonprofit and community service agencies, facilitating workshops for teens and book clubs for adults on “Tools for Character Development,” chairing Social Action committees, serving on the Cultural Arts committee, as a member of the JFCS Speakers Bureau and as a multimedia and spoken word artist. She hosts a weekly podcast, “Schmooze with Suze,” where she discusses culture, values and global citizenship with thought leaders and change-makers.
